Balancing act.
Stacked beach stone. sculptures on the shore at Mousehole, with the little fishing boat in the distance.
What a perfect late summer’s day. Can’t believe what great weather we have had. 24C and wall to wall sunshine.
I’m sorry to mention this as I know most of the country has had an awful day.
First stop Newlyn to buy fish. Two megrim sole from Trelawnys overlooking the harbour.
So tea sorted.
I had a walk round the harbour while Mr C sat on a seat. He still can’t walk more than a few yards.
I don’t think I have ever seen it look busier.
Mr C got chatting to someone who said the fisherman were making a lot of money due to the new world markets.
Next stop Mousehole. Just managed to get a spot in the car park.
A delicious lunch of Newlyn crab sandwiches at The Rock Pool cafe. Perched on the rocks above the sea pool. Wonderful spot. Very hot so glad we managed to get a table by the window inside.
Again I had a walk while Mr C sat. The village was busy, and there was a queue for the cafe when I came back.
Called at Sainsbury’s to stock up on food, wine, and beer.
Then back “. Home” . Sat in the garden with a refreshing Magnum. Read for an hour or so, and then went down to Perranuthnoe.
Mr C sat at the top while I walked down for a walk along the beach.
It was glorious. The sea sparkled. A few people still surfing and swimming.
Back now and about to open a bottle of White Burgundy and start cooking the Megram.
What a fabulous first day!
( extra is Newlyn harbour, crab sandwiches, and Perranuthnoe Beach. )
