The direct flash experiment
Not meant to be a work of art today - just a reminder that I need to get more familiar with using flash. Some months ago I went to a series of short workshops held at my local camera supplier, Park Cameras. One of the sessions was on using flash for portrait work. The tutor was really good and showed how many of us are stuck in using 'bounced' flash because that's what the mags say. He showed how to use direct flash to drop out unwanted backgrounds and how to support it with reflectors.
This rather clumsy experiment today was to try and keep the colour of the backlit stained glass but also pick out the colours of the flowers. It's (sort of) worked and given me some ideas of how to do this better.
Stopping now as today is a busy day and I can't get too bogged down in blipping ;-)
