Soup

We have had a great crop of tomatoes this year. The chillies have been plentiful and even they and the sweet peppers have reddened,

So this evening I decided to add them in with some other produce and make my favourite soup. A variation on Jamie Oliver’s red pepper, chilli tomato and basil soup. Delicious hot or cold.

The preparation takes a while as the peppers have to be grilled to the point where the skins turn black. Then cooled. Then deseeded and the skin removed. All very time consuming and colourful and it does impart an added sweetness to the peppers. However, the seeds get everywhere.

My other favourite - leek and potato soup - is a lot easier to make!
