In The Occupied Territory

Station to Station

Yesterday I told you about the bad situation as regards the taxi area at the station. Well today I can show you.
Here is the view inside.
The roof was removed during renovation and the building of Union Square, but most of the structure was left, but the bit where I was sitting whilst taking this picture is still covered, but parts of constantly drip dirty water.
You can see the people quqeing for taxis at the back, wjich does not really have cover, making it miserable on really wet days.
Also, only taxis with permits are allowed to service the rank, whilst the queuesget larger when several trains come in at once, meaning other taxis dropping off there cant pick up, so we usually drop off and pick up people who have the sense to phone ahead an pre-book, just outside the station, utside the station hotel.
Most of these private cars probably shouldnt be in there anyway, as it reserved for taxis, disbled badge holder and drop off only. Not pick ups and parking, but it is rarely, if ever enforced, depite the police office being within the car park.
Still, the frame work of the old structure is always interesting.
