Water Cathedral

The maker builds a bridge between prehistory and the future. “People walk on a white, floating line about 40 meters onto the water. At the end, they meet a spherical shape with a diameter of about 3.5 meters. Eight people can sit in it to enjoy the view.”

The Timeline artwork is made of foam and is provided with a strong layer of plastic. Halfway up are a number of mammoth tusks; people walk under it. “Now it is water, but before the sand was excavated here, mammoths lived here. A mammoth skull and pelvis were found in 1972 where the tusks now stand.”

The skull and pelvis are on display in a museum in Kleve.
