450 Tonne Cracker Head

Going into Stanlow.

I heard that the M53 was closed to allow this to pass from Ellesmere Port to Stanlow. It's the top for a "cracker" which separates out the constituent parts of the crude oil. The cracker was 450T and gross weight was over 700.

It's on SPMT's (Self Propelled Modular Transporters) All axles turn and they're driven hydrostatically.

If you were held up getting to Cheshire Oaks at about 9:50....this is why.
