Self-portrait (March)

I have a friend who doesn't like photographs of himself. He says he loves having happy memories of events and holidays but when he sees himself in the photos he is just struck by how young he was then.

I don't suffer from that exactly although sometimes when I see photos of myself from years ago, I feel a bit weary; I think about how much that young self has yet to go through. But that's odd because when I look backwards from where I am now, I tend to remember the good times. Go figure.

Yesterday I watched Star Wars with Dan (until he gave up on it) and Abi (who loved it). I was actually a bit distracted by just how young Harrison Ford looked. (Mark Hamill always looked old somehow). More alarming was seeing "Old Ben Kenobi" looking like someone just a few years older than me!

On my birthday last week, I changed my avi because it was a couple of years old and I thought it was beginning to look a bit like someone else. But I don't want to run scared; there's something to be embraced here rather than feared. So. here's how I look at the moment.
