Wrapping the Arc de Triomphe

... in Paris.  It's a major project that Christo--the Bulgarian sculptor of large-scale outdoor works had long planned with his wife Jeanne-Claude. They are both dead, but his nephew Vladimir Yavachev is implementing it. 

We took the metro to visit it late this afternoon. After surfacing we walked entirely around the Arc (a long distance :), taking photos as we went; I'm putting up three of them (there are certainly many more on the web).  A really fascinating experience.   Don't miss the extras--especially the last one.
