Sir Joseph Banks: tribute garden, Horncastle

A blue flax lily from Australia and a giant gunnera from Brazil are among the plants in the garden. Banks inherited large landholdings in Lincolnshire. He was an outstanding natural scientist, President of the Royal Society for 42 years, botanist on Capt James Cook's first voyage of discovery in 1768, and responsible for the early plant collections at Kew Gardens.

The extra illustrates the post-harvest Wolds landscape between Horncastle and Louth.
