Bright sunny morning, at 07:00 on a Sunday. Forgot to draw the curtains last night.
Slightly surprised to find a street market on a Sunday, but there it was, albeit limited in the volume of stalls.
Wandered around the village and it's surrounds until it was tome to go for lunch. We had booked, via a string of E-mails, at a highly recommended Auberge de L'Argentor, in a neighbouring village, Nanteuil-en-Vallee. Excellent venue, pleasant but slightly disappointing food.
The two steaks on the market stall are about 2” thick, just right for a certain W.C.
My Foi Gras on the puddle of reduction was wonderful, but the Moule in curry sauce were pretty poor. Small and overwhelmed by the sweet chinese style sauce. Too many unopened, and too many tasted off. Observations were given to a serving wench in response to her polite enquiry as to everything being all right. I was polite, and even recommended substituting the packet curry with Thai Green curry paste. There was no response from the proprietor or chef. Sue's only dish was a less than fresh Sea Bream, but had a perfect sauce, of unknown provenance.
