Part II of Ginny's new toy.
After the partial success of the newly acquired ball yesterday I went to Pets at Home and bought this for £3. I thought it was tough enough but she broke the surface and started chipping off little bits within minutes. To avoid a repeat of yesterday's sickness episode I had to take it away. It was a lot more solid than the foam rubber one yesterday that was not a dog toy but instead of playing with it in the way I thought she would enjoy she just chased after it and then cornered it up against the roof and proceeded on her path of destruction. What I need is a largish beach-type ball that is light and inflated but too large for her to get her teeth into it. Shortly after this she started salivating and pawed at her mouth so I checked to see if she had already got a piece stuck between her teeth but what I found was the detached wings of a ladybird stuck to the outside of her mouth, the body part missing. Obviously she was oblivious to the warning such brightly coloured wings are supposed to give to the animal world and so the insect had applied its second line of defence - a noxious smelling and foul tasting exudation which she was trying to rid from her mouth.
I wonder if she will remember not to eat ladybirds - yuk!
