Ben Ledi from Loch Venachar

Starting from Brig O’Turk, we set out to run anti-clockwise round Loch Venachar. Unfortunately after 5km were met by a path closure (of the National Cycle Network I will add) to accommodate a cycle race. The marshals advised it would be dangerous for us to attempt passage. With no diversion or alternative route offered, we were a bit miffed.

Fortunately some map research indicated a potential route via Loch Drunkie to get past the closure. A couple of dead-ends and 3km later we were back on track.

The south shore of the loch was lovely with a scout cabin, luxury huts, a retreat and a sailing club to add interest as we plodded along.

The red raft kayaks in the blip were the scouts from the cabin.
