Yesterday I blanched and froze 1.7kg of beans, following the 2.2kg a couple of weeks ago. Today I looked at the remaining french beans on their trees and decided I'd let them go and use the seeds next year. No-one needs that many beans. The runners will also probably get too tough soon.

Instead, we, and yes Himself did really come up and help, dug all the potatoes and finished off the raspberries. We're having shepherd's pie for tea to use up the ones stabbed by the fork in the process ( the potatoes, not the raspberries).

It's also the law in this house at the moment that whenever you go down the garden you have to come back with a courgette. So far I have three in the fridge, plus this one and a few more that I might catch before they turn into marrows.  I laughed out loud when I saw them on sale in Tesco yesterday.
