The Strange Case of Jimmy Finlayson

I spotted this ripped poster on Brunswick Street today. There was just enough left to make out the interesting fizzog of Scottish actor James Henderson Finlayson. I thought he was an Edinburgher but he was actually born in Larbert. He did however go to the same school as me! ;) Finlayson is most famous for the films he made with Laurel and Hardy; some early studio publicity material even referred to them as the 'famous comedy trio'. It was strange to see this image of him on a Melbourne street in 2013 but good to have my memory jogged and remember the man.
