Precious
This is a blip that had to be, considering the day...
Adam and I went out shopping for a few bits and pieces and one of our stop-offs was at our local pet supplies store. We didn't realise it before arriving, but our local "Friends of the Pound" group had taken a number of adult cats, and a few kittens as well, to the store, in the hope of finding them a new adoptive family.
Adam's grandma Irene cares for a cat for Friends of the Pound, and her latest temporary lodger, Smeagle, was there.
Adam loves Smeagle, and when we told the lady we were speaking to that Adam knew Smeagle, she knew all about Irene's grandson who had taken a liking to him her (note to self ~ Smeagle is a her!) and she allowed Adam to open the cage and pat her.Smeagle is a very shy girl and obviously knew Adam.
There were so many beautiful, fully grown cats there. I especially loved Maxi, but then I spotted Tuddles. Oh, and then there was, of course, Smeagle. And not forgetting Deizel and his gorgeous Ragdoll cross friend (what was her name again...?)
Adam would have been very happy if I had decided to adopt another cat, but I told him that we couldn't, that two cats in the house was plenty, to which he replied, "I don't mind if you become a crazy cat woman!!"
When we arrived home, Adam first of all spotted Phoebe and she was given a huge hug, followed by our little Miss Tibbs. And we were again reminded of how precious our two cats are to us.
It is very sad to see older cats without homes. We can't give a home to every cat in need, even if we would like to.
And what eventuated with Smeagle? She has gone back to live with Irene for the time being.
(The back-blipping continues, and I have added some more of our trip to Noosa in December, from December 7th through to December 13th.)
