Ready, steady, cuckoo . . .
This morning I got everything ready for tonight’s supper - micro chips cut, washed and in soak; bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon decantated and breathing; steak marinating; mushrooms and onions on standby. We may add a couple of frozen peas for colour.
This way we are clear to veg out and cook dinner to LT on Radio 2 at six, followed by JW Rock Show at eight, the depending on who is on between nine and ten Craig Charles for the rest of the evening. If we don’t like what’s on between JW and CC then the radio may get abandoned for TV and CC will miss out.
If this isn’t silly enough then the interloper at extra who appeared on the living room ceiling is not going to be offered dinner anyway . . .
To be honest we were (are) very pleased to see the Great Green Bush-cricket as crickets and the like have been missing from the field next to us for some years now. Mind you the plague of flies that we’ve had this year may mean a welcome lack of insecticides.
As you may guess from the silliness above we intend to completely veg out today. I have a permanent alarm set for five to six on a Saturday evening to warn me that Liza Tarbuck will be on air in five minutes.
