Flowering Inferno

The last of my different varieties of Achimenes is at last  starting to bloom. The tubers came from my aunt who acquired the original  one  from Jacques Amand nursery.  She  says it was  called "Inferno". The plants are very strong and sturdy but seem not as floriferous (yet) as  other varieties.

A more restful day than  yesterday with online uke class and then off to a blood donor session.  Have just been listening to tonight's Prom: Bach's Goldberg Variations  played splendidly by  young Siberian pianist Pavel Kolesnikov. Apparently , he flew into London from Frankfurt this  morning, after giving two concerts yesterday, to perform solo for ninety minutes in the  Royal Albert Hall, this evening. I can't begin to imagine how much courage and stamina that  takes, however well he might know the piece!
