A cheerful warder! Outside traitors gate.
My first day out in London on train and bus since March 2020 to visit the Tower of London. I’ve not been to the Tower for several years and it is usually so so busy with foreign tourists. Decided to go now before it gets busy again and with school trips too. All very civilised and not busy even in the Crown Jewels rooms. As there was tour starting with a warder we decided to go with him…a very cheerful cheeky chap who revelled in telling us about all the beheadings at the Tower , in chronological order so also a potted History of the various monarchs etc.
The train to and bus from Waterloo were not very crowded. However there were lots of people around at lunchtime, some obviously workers on a lunch break. Had a very cheap lunch at a newish Real Greek restaurant just by Tower Bridge, next to the Ivy restaurant which I like.
Very pleased it was not so hot today. No rain but cloudy as seen in the extras.
