Twin Hovers...
Well we had a little bit of drama yesterday that I didn't want to mention until we knew the outcome.
Over the weekend David developed a bit of a head cold - sneezing, runny nose, the usual stuff, but during the night of Monday into Tuesday he started to cough. Not a hacking cough but enough of a cough to be considered a new persistent cough and raise alarm bells. He headed off to Perth for a PCR test and returned to self isolate and await the results.
Aside from the horrible thought that D might have covid, the ramifications didn't bear thinking about. Family and friends here at the weekend, all of us catching it, holiday having to be cancelled (again) and so on....also Alan had an appointment at the wheelchair clinic this morning to be measured for a new seating system and wheelchair. We've been waiting for this appointment for months. I had a bit of a restless night.
David texted me from the front bedroom at 8.05am to say he'd receive the result of the PCR test and it was negative! Oh the relief! That meant Alan's wheelchair appointment went ahead and I could continue getting organised for going away.
Of course David's night of isolation in the front bedroom meant the bed had to be stripped and the bathroom cleaned as that's where Andrew and Nikki will be sleeping when they house-sit for us while we're away. Sod's law the bedroom had already been prepared for them! Oh well, rather have to re-do it than suffer the alternative of David having to self isolate in it for the next 10 days!
It as so warm here today. Unfortunately my chores kept me indoors till this evening when I spent a little while in the garden. It was still warm but not the cloying heat of earlier. Spent five minutes following the antics of this pair of hover flies. Took loads of photos but only edited the first one as it's late and I am keen to get to bed. I will definitely sleep more soundly tonight! :-))
