Salvia guaranitica ‘Black and Blue’

Worth the wait! I have been nurturing my salvias since last summer when I bought them at RHS Hyde Hall. When I got them home and read the label in more detail I discovered that they are not fully hardy.. however I mulched them with wood chip for the winter and then it was a really long wait until they showed at all, in June! Then the slugs and the drought, but finally they are flowering and what a great colour! I have also struck four cuttings just in case, for next year. 
More market baking today, and then the loaves tomorrow. Phew!
