Now I understand!

Yesterday (3 days after being discharged from the hospital), I called the surgeon’s office to check on some symptoms I was experiencing. The nurse there asked me if I was taking my pain meds regularly. What pain meds, I responded, as I was discharged with just an over the counter slip to take Tylenol.

Apparently, I was supposed to have left the hospital with three prescription pain meds to take for 10 days but the hospital “just forgot”.

I’m now back on a regimen of helpful drugs. I can tell you one thing: you don’t know how much pain you’re in until it stops.
