Lahardane Co Mayo

This is a sensitive and respectful tribute to the 14 people from the village of Lahardane who left to board the Titanic in the hope of a better life... They would have taken a pony and trap to the town of Castlebar and an onward 9 hour train journey to Cork to begin their sea journey on the famous ship.. Only three women survived.. In the background is the beautiful Nephin Mountain..  Just not in view in this pic!
