My mint bed was illuminated by the lowering sun and I was astonished to see a flock of small tortoiseshell butterflies, along with a variety of bees, all busy nectaring in the warm rays. The mint flowers don't look anything special but seem to be a great attraction - who knew?
The butterflies fluttering between the flower spikes created a kaleidoscopic effect of flickering colour. Just had to stand in awe and wonder - the camera wasn't up to the job.
