CAMINO PORTUGUES Day 2

This is the view from our hostel room in downtown Lisbon. We are the only guests so the owner has given us the key and gone home, leaving his phone number. It is right opposite the Sta Justa Elevator, a neogothic lift. You can see half of it here, the rest wouldn't fit into the photo.

We are doing the start of our Camino in a strange way and have walked the first part in reverse as today we headed east to the Tagus River and south from Moscavide to the Se Cathedral and our hostel - just over 9 miles. Our packs are small (mine is 5.5kg) but it's hot and the pavements are hard.

Tonight we ate at a lovely vegan buffet restaurant where the wine was €1.50 a glass. Then we went for vegan ice cream and a wander round the city by night, another couple of miles.

A day of sightseeing tomorrow before we set off properly.
