Shadow-Play

Another amazingly sunny day. Which was lovely for pottering about this morning, getting ready for a trip to Edinburgh.

Driving up this evening with the sun still blazing, low in the sky, was tricky. But I'm here now and staying for a few days.  Something I haven't done for at least 18 months. 

I stopped en route and take pictures, but that pesky sun was in the wrong place again.

 I had a few shots of hoverflies on the Japanese anemones outside the workshop, so here is one ...

There are lots of hoverflies about. And wasps, enjoying our plums. They eat them from the inside, so we have to be careful, some of those lovely plump purple fruits contain an unpleasant surprise.  There are very few butterflies this year, so far.
