A new school year

Nathaniel started in year 3 today and Ella had her first day at Middle School. Year 5. #3 daughter walked her to school as she is no longer infectious, but it was too much for her and she went back to bed and slept all morning. The picture on the right is James Year 2 and Thomas Year 4 - they went back on Friday but tested Covid positive that night so are still at home. So far their Dad feels not bad, and their mum continues negative. I hope it stayed that way.

Chris and I had a good 5 miles through the woods and round the moor. We’d not met for weeks as she had family staying, then was in the Lakes, and came back with Covid. Fortunately she has made a good recovery.

Despite the shortage of blood testing vials Mr C’s case was considered urgent enough to warrant a test. The results will be a couple of days then he’ll know if he gets fast-tracked for further investigation or whether it’s safe to leave him on a waiting list. Our flu jabs have been postponed for 2 weeks as they have not been able to access the stuff. We are living in a third world country.

And the government is taxing the poor proportionally more than the rich by raising National Insurance contributions.
