Kingfisher ( Alcedo atthis

Our first full day on Solace for this trip.  The journey was from our overnight mooring near Weston on Trent and we tied up at Westport Lake visitors moorings, taking the last available space.

What a brilliant day for Kingfishers, there seemed to be a constant supply and even better some perched in places where they could be seen.  I managed shots of two different birds but I felt this was the best.

An early night ready for grabbing a place in the queue for the Harecastle tunnel first thing in the morning.
