Skipper on the Butterfly Bush

I spent a little time in the backyard chasing Skippers this morning.  I especially liked this shot because the brick of the house lent such a nice color to the background.  

I finally got around to processing some of the kids' photos from their visit last week.  We had grandkids here from the 26th to the 2nd. The two girls and parents were here for the first couple of days and then our 2-year-old grandson and his parents arrived.  The next 3 days were quite chaotic and exhausting and kitchen clean-up seemed to be endless but we were all so happy to be together it was well worth it. Things quieted down when the two girls & parents left and we were down to just five for the final three days.  It was so good on so many levels, we got to spend quality time with grandkids and our sons and daughters-in-law, and our sons got to spend quality time with each other for the first time in nearly two years. 

Needless to say, we were exhausted when they all left and so it has taken me a while to get a few blips up from that week. 

Now I am busy packing as we are leaving in the morning for a short holiday on the North Fork of Long Island.
