Common Darter

I walked my heathland butterfly transect this morning. It is still just about producing counts in double figures, mostly Small Heath but I was surprised to see a Gatekeeper. There were plenty of  dragonflies about, mainly Brown Hawker but also several pairs of Common Darter.
