Lady's Rock, Sound of Mull
Caught the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry from Oban to Tiree this morning (another 5am start!). We passed this lighthouse on Lady's Rock in the Sound of Mull on the way. There is a story to the rock: in 1527 one Lachlan Maclean tried to murder his wife, Lady Catherine Campbell of Inveraray, by leaving her on the rock at low tide, expecting her to drown when the tide came in, but she was rescued during the night and survived. Some time later Lachlan Maclean was murdered.
The extra is a gannet on the water taken from the boat.
