Nice Weather For Dragons And Flying Ants

A lovely warm, sunny and calm day. Those flying ants that I mentioned in my blip yesterday were right with their weather forecast. Perfect for their nuptial flights. I saw a few flocks of gulls flying erratically and gorging on the ants. The acid that they contain makes the gulls 'drunk'. I've added a very tightly cropped distant image to extras of a gull going for a flying ant.

Good weather for flying ants is also great for dragonflies. I shot this migrant hawker this morning over the lake. Notice how it has tucked its front legs behind its eyes.
