Skara Brae

Coming to a place like this makes you really pause for thought.  This Neolithic stone built settlement is 5000 years old, and beautifully preserved because it was hidden under the sand for such a long time.  It demonstrates a sense of community, there is a beautiful workshop, tanks for holding water or bait, stone beds and shelving and much more.
It is also sited by the most beautiful coastline.
In the afternoon I had the great pleasure to meet with an Orkney Blipper who took me for a great walk along the coast of Hoy Sound and up to Ness Battery.  Thank you.
