The watchers!
What an unexpectedly sunny and warm day after a week of blagh!
This is Wilsden Walker with two of her friends, V and J, who were in Bingley to watch our first post pandemic gig with ATN community singers. They had booked a table for lunch at the cafe adjoining the market square only to find it closed when they arrived. Another victim of staff difficulties I would guess.
Our gig was to do four songs Flash Mob style with our musical director starting off the singing and us materialising from ..? Well there was nowhere to materialise from as the square was practically empty apart from ATN singers! A little disco glitter ball with dancers appeared to start things off but that was it. I think we were expecting stalls etc. It’s part of the bid for Bradford to become city of culture at some point in the future. They have bid unsuccessfully before.
Anyway the singing seemed to go down well and we enjoyed our first outing.
Thank you ladies for coming to support us.
We then went to the newly opened Market Square Tavern ( Used to be the Ferrand’s Arms) for a drink with friends Corinthian Column and Yorkshirebred together with several other groups of singers. A nice way to finish the afternoon.
Another first this morning was singing in church. The first time we’ve had a choir post Covid and the first time the congregation have been allowed to sing other than out side.
A good day of firsts.
