New reality day 404

Finally!

And yet not all finished. But the birches are attached.

As you can see there's some wood parts without paint. Some of the wood that we bought was so damp that they could not be painted all over, so I continue with those in a few weeks, depending on weather. We don't want the pieces to rotten.

No idea how the birches will stand time, but we'll see. It won't be too huge job to switch to regular wood.

My husband and Niklas are working on the front door. Some of you may remember that we bought a new front door last autumn. The finishing part was left. Mostly due to the fact that we only needed 3 pieces of wood, but our car is not big enough to transport long pieces and it would cost too much / piece to get 3 pieces delivered. So we waited for the terrace building project and got the needed pieces with them (the "family" van was here for the project). I have already painted the woods last week. Now they are fitting the frame. Hope it will look good after all this.

We (my husband with my assistance) cut all the extra wood to fit fireplace. We saved few pieces for any sudden wood needs. I piled the cut wood nicely. I have been cleaning the yard and the garden and todo del mundo!

We also cut the roof pieces to fix the gaps in the terrace roof. Those will be attached very soon - I hope.

All and all so many last stretches has been made today and I'm nearly project free.

Well, I did take a little piece of wood that I will paint and make a shelf over our bed. But that will be tiny project and I can keep the piece anywhere and it won't bother me (that much) like the big piles of wood that we've had for so long (not to mention the old fence parts).

It was 3°C this morning. All green doing okay in the yard and greenhouse. The greenhouse gets colder during the nights, but warmer when the sun is shining. Odd.

It's been a sunny day, so the greenhouse has been around 17°C most of the day. We have another very cold night coming and then it should get near regular summer temperatures again. Also seems that the rains have paused for a week at least.

I have a load of wood waiting to be burned this evening in the firepalce and we will heat the sauna. It feels wonderful to get house in order. Finally.
