First world life

This cake is a great example of the settled secure life I live. Today we had our annual street party and a neighbour made this fantastic lemon curd sponge. It was raffled for cancer research and we were lucky enough to win it. Unfortunately it’s not for me but no doubt R will do it justice.

This morning was the other extreme : sorting and loading into vans,donated clothing, toys, toiletries for Afghan refugees coming to the Vale of Evesham. How fortunate they are to be able to escape a harsh regime, but it does make me acknowledge my privilege.
