Dusky Puffball

On the morning walk with the spaniel I came across two groups of what I think are Dusky Puffball fungi. The habitat was right - acid coniferous woodland. Apparently it gives off the odour of a wolf's flatulence. It did smell but, being unfamiliar with flatulent wolves, I couldn't say if it was the right smell.
