Late summer mellowness

The field where we walk Merlin is now looking more brown and yellow than lush green. Most of the flowers are seed heads. A late summer calm fills the air.

A lovely afternoon with Steve and Penny. So good of them to pop in and see us. We were left with various homegrown goodies, including plums, chillis and beans!
