Saturday - quiz day.  All went well even with my father not present and not able to give my mother a hand with the technology.

My favourite feature of our kitchen, now over 15 years old, is the floor.  We couldn't find any floor covering we liked but we did find a gent who suggested he could make any pattern we wanted for not much more than the normal labour price for laying. The "tiles" are not exactly square.  Luckily the kitchen worked out to be very close to 11:5 ratio so we were able to create this mock 60s look (or "mid-century" as it is now called).

Sadly, we tried to get in contact with the gent a couple of years later (for a friend) and he was no longer in business.
