Old fuel pump

Came across a pair of old fuel pumps today on one of our urban walks. Pleased to say I remember petrol and paraffin being dispensed in gallons. To show my age, a couple of years ago I went to a small petrol station in a small town where someone filled your tank for you. I said cheerfully, '10 gallons should be enough'. The 30-something chap who served me was a bit confused - he had no idea what a gallon was in litres. Bet he drank his beer in pints though.
