Banana Flowers

A morning walk with a friend along the greenspace next to WestConnex, back past the park’s new orchard and around the paths, ponds and wetlands. 

The city farm’s bananas are flowering, but I had to search online to work out the structure - all very detailed but the long slender green banana shapes are almost certainly ovaries. And the curling purple leaves might have been buds.
