De Tolbrug bij Veesen...

The inlet work of the high water channel is located under the 800 meter long Toll Bridge. The inlet system consists of a dike and 60 valves, each 12 meters long and 1.05 meters high. At normal (annual) high water levels, the inlet stops the water from the IJssel. As a result, farmers can continue to use the area behind for agriculture. Only when the water level reaches the top of the valves (this is at a water level of 5.65 meters +NAP  (Normal Amsterdam Level)), the valves open and the high water channel flows along with the IJssel. As a result, the water from the IJssel is drained faster, causing the water level to fall
