South!

Lovely to be in a quite different place! Drove across the north coast of Scotland and to the harbour at Sandside, see extra. The beach is right next door to Dounreay, the nuclear power plant, where my dad was once employed. Sadly, the beach is contaminated by radioactive particles, but it's not his fault! Dad was involved in the building on the plant in the 50s, and then as an advisor later in his career.

The harbour is of Telford's designing and is so neat and tidy. Only a few boats use it, but it's a lovely place.

A very hot afternoon but we eventually went down the Skelpick road, where there are a lot of clearance villages and parked next to a lochan for the night. Evening walk by the river Naver proved interesting, lots of different mushrooms and toadstools AND a little lizard!

Great to be back in the campervan!
