Before My Time

This mural appeared on the outside of the art gallery a couple of months ago, I don’t think I’ve blipped it before. The Ministry of Silly Walks was broadcast 51 years ago, so although my elder siblings watched the programme (every other week when dad worked an evening shift), at a young age I wasn’t allowed to stay up and watch it. I enjoyed Life of Brian when that came out. Well done to Dame Sarah Storey on getting her 17th Paralymic gold over two different disciplines, a UK record and an incredible achievement. I'm looking forward to the new ABBA album and would love to go to the 'stage show'.

Day 535 / Day 46 of Step 4 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only)
Boris confirms there will be a booster programme starting in Sept for the 'older generation'. A study by the CDC in the US shows that unvaccinated people are 17 times more likely to be hospitalised than those who are fully vaccinated. The Zoe Study reports over 17,000 new daily symptomatic cases on average in the UK in the double jabbed, 30% of all new daily cases. The lead scientist says 'we've seen evidence that the protection provided by vaccines is wearing off.' The ONS reports an estimated 970,000 people in the UK were experiencing self-reported long Covid symptoms in the 4 weeks to 1st Aug (1.5% of the population), with 40% having symptoms for at least a year and women being the most affected. A UK study found that fully vaccinated adults are 47% less likely to develop long Covid if they get infected.
