Passing clouds
Another good day! I walked down town to pick up a prescription and popped into the railway station to renew my Senior Railcard. I'm planning to take the train to London next week or the week after so wanted to take advantage of a cheaper fare.
This afternoon Mrs M and I drove to the Walled Garden to pick some beans and peas. Even though we picked runner beans only last Saturday there were so many more, and some were so big! We picked another five pounds. Some will go to the Hope Kitchen as usual. The peas are coming to the end and we only had half a pound of those, though there will be some more.
We drove on through Glen Lonan to the polytunnels - Ben Cruachan had a collar of cloud hanging around the peaks. We picked tomatoes, a couple of courgettes and some small squashes - the small melon plants have hardly grown at all, due probably to the erratic water supply, so I dug them up and brought them home to pot up, just in case this warm weather continues! We gave the bed a weed and a water and came home. Beautiful sunshine - time for a quick cuppa on the deck before coming in to slice beans for dinner!
