Majesty
I have been to Lanercost Priory many times over the years, it used to be a favourite place to take the young grandchildren when they lived in Brampton and I collected them from Nursery. The Café is of course a big attraction, as at least two Blippers will attest to! But I love the peace and majesty of the priory ruins themselves.
From Carlisle to choose some shower fittings, to Lanercost for brunch and a wander round the Priory, to Waitrose at Hexham via the Military Road (a lot of people at all the Hadrian's Wall centres). And a return journey via the Alston road and a call in at Melmerby for tea and cake, sitting in the sunshine in the Village Bakery garden.
A shopping trip with a difference.
