No early bike ride; but I managed to get miles in by doing a looong loop to the GG Bakery before picking up the daily weekly bread.
And as Paw was down, I figured I'd get him some Samuel Smith's ales from Beerhive; his emporium of choice (Henderson Wines) having retired. I also swung past the playing fields to grab 2 handfuls of blackberries for a lemon polenta cake a la Nigeria Nigella Lawson.
With the cake in, it was time to rendezvous with half the Spanish Lindsays and the folks at the Fishmarket for lunch. We'd secured a table outside, but they'd phoned earlier to say they were short staffed (Covid, funnily enough) and we could still have the table but only use the takeaway menu / service.
Which turned out fine; they gave us a free round of drinks (woo hoo!) and we sat and chatted and sheltered from the scorching sun....
And with the sun in mind, we headed off minus Sam Smith's but with gained courgettes, tomatoes and beans and hit the beach.
She'd finished her allocated OT hours and fancied a swim and a paddle. Alex and I started a fire and for dinner we had chicken and mango curry as the sun set in a fiery fashion.
