Almost like Finland

We hiked another 8 or so miles near Eagle River in the morning. Quite gnarly trail for the first half, then very pleasant, reminding me of Finland forests: Huge boulders, mossy forest floor, birches, aspens, mushrooms, even lingonberries! All the time we were aware of the potential bear encounters; singing, talking loud, announcing our arrival.
Had a lengthy lunch with the man who loaned us his Jeep for the week. Another great day!
