Cicadas

As Samuel and I swam down the sidewalk this morning I checked the humidity. 83%. Even though the temperature was much cooler today, I cranked that AC to get the indoor humidity down. 

But Louisiana has it worse! Heat index of 105 but no air conditioning because no power and areas will not have power for ..... possibly weeks. 

Cicadas. We thought we were done for the year because Brood X was done. Some people have complained about the cicadas recently and the noise. Yes, I heard the noise, and I recognized it was cicada noise. But it wasn't the Brood X existential-scream-of-rage noise. It was regular, annual cicada noise. Plus, I didn't see any. 

Today I saw a dead one. They are the same size but green colored. Then I saw two having sex in the parking lot. I think one of them was dead. It probably had so much fun during sex that it died. The longer you wait the better the sex should be. 

Despite dead cicadas and more cicada porn I had a really good day AND two crows were hanging out on my retaining wall today while I was in a meeting. I like working from home. My dog sleeps next to me, comes over for pets, and crows come by and entertain me.
