Pic du Cogollo

My nephew is in training for a climb up Mount Whitney, the highest US peak outside of Alaska at 4,418 metres. Today we climbed up to the Pic du Cogollo at 1492 metres which was quite enough for me. The climb out to the flag was a bit scary as it was on a rocky promontory and required great care. The Catalan flag with the star on it is the Catalan independence flag. The independence movement here is much less strong than in Spanish Catalonia. I have now iced my left knee which was complaining on the way down. Tomorrow Guenael will up the ante and walk higher.
