A Jigsaw Day
Another cold and cloudy day when the max temp only rose 0.8C from the temp at 8am. This morning I watched more of the Paralympics, a superbly competitive 100M T64 race, with Jonnie Peacock getting a joint bronze medal. Sir Lee Pearson got an incredible 14th gold in equestrian events. I love Ch4’s coverage, the back story to the Paralymic competitors and the professionalism of Clare Balding. Another half hour of raking the lawn this afternoon, that’s half done now with two large tubtrugs of lawn thatch removed. And this evening sees the start of the US Open :)
Day 532 / Day 43 of Step 4 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only)
The WHO’s European Director has said that a third jab is not a luxury, but a means of keeping the vulnerable safe - this is contradictory to other WHO statements, and to me is common sense. A big drop in new cases today, but I suspect this is simply as it’s a Bank Holiday. Cases in Scotland have broadly doubled each week since restrictions were lifted. The WHO has expressed concern about the slow down in vaccine uptake in Europe over the last six weeks.
